Dear Class of 1988:

This is a Deacon Alert to inform you of the passing of Wesley Schreiner on Sunday, April 8th.

Wes was the brother of Nancy (Schreiner) Monson and your classmate, Julie (Schreiner) Watkins ('88).



Wesley Michael Schreiner, age 60, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away on Sunday, April 8,
2018 in his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones. His treatment and care were
provided by Roger Maris Cancer Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Wes was born in Shreveport, LA at Barksdale Air Force Base on October 16, 1957 to Elmer
and Nettie Schreiner. Wes attended schools while his father was stationed at March Air
Force Base in CA, Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, and Minot Air Force Base in ND.
Wes was baptized in the Catholic church, received his First Communion, and was confirmed.
He graduated from Fargo North High School (1975) and attended Moorhead State University
and North Dakota State University. Although Wes never married, he spent many years with
his life partner, Susan Thiers.

Wes held jobs at a Phillips 66 service station, Musicland, and Hertz before becoming
self-employed in computer network design and support. He also donated his time and
technical skills when people needed his help. Wes ran sound for local bands and was an
ardent supporter of the local music scene. Wes held intense interests in music, science,
weather, national as well as global politics, and astronomy. He was able to fix nearly
anything electronic or automotive.

Wes is survived by his life partner, Susan Thiers of Fargo, ND; his mother, Nettie Schreiner
of Fargo, ND; sister Nancy (David) Monson of Fargo, ND; sister Julie Watkins of Wichita, KS;
niece Leanna (Ty) Jones of West Fargo, ND; nieces Jenna and Kira Watkins of Wichita, KS;
and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Wes was preceded in death by his father,
Elmer Schreiner.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Boulger Funeral
Home & Celebration of Life Center, Fargo, ND. Chaplain Nathan Richman will officiate the
service. Visitation will be at the same location at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Wes’s family would like to thank the professionals at Sanford Medical Center, Roger Maris
Cancer Center, and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care and compassion during
his illness.
