 This is a Deacon Alert to inform you of the passing of Barbara "Bobbie" Malmberg on Sunday, Dec. 15th.
 Bobbie was the wife of your classmate, Mark Malmberg ('70).
 
Obituary:

Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Malmberg, 74, of Oakes, ND, passed away December 15, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 16, 1950 in Fargo, ND to Donald and Arlene (Kuehl) Holm. She attended school in Glyndon, MN through the third grade, moving to Lake Park, MN where she finished her schooling and graduated from high school in 1968. She then attended NDSU for 2 years and finished her Social Work/Sociology Degree at Moorhead State College in 1972. It was there that she met the love of her life and married Mark Malmberg on June 18, 1972. After graduation, she worked at Metropolitan Savings and Loan until Mark graduated. Then they moved to Minneapolis for Mark to attend Dental School at the University of MN for 4 years. Then Mark joined the Navy, and they moved to Florida for 3 years. In 1981 they moved to Oakes, ND where they set up a dental practice. She worked as receptionist, dental assistant, and mother to her 3 children. In 2012, Bobbie and Mark bought Scoop’s Liquor where she enjoyed contact with their customers.
Bobbie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and served on Altar Guild, Welca, served numerous times on church council, Sunday School teacher, confirmation mentor, quilting, and was always willing to make up a pan of bars and work in the kitchen.
She is survived by her husband Mark, of 52 & ½ years, her three children, Mark II (Kristine) Malmberg of Fargo, daughter Megan of Oakes, and Merrick (Stacey) Malmberg of Oakes, brother Rick Holm of Audubon, MN, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and her nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Connie Holm.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by her memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Oakes. Bobbie’s service will be live streamed on the Dahlstrom Funeral Home website www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com on her obituary page. Burial will take place in the spring at Oakes View Cemetery.
