Dear Classes of 1979 & 1986:

This is a Deacon Alert to inform you of the passing of Calmer "Cal" R. Frovarp on Tuesday, Feb. 4th.

Cal was the husband of Julie (Luken) Frovarp ('79) and the brother of Cathy (Frovarp) Faller, Diana (Frovarp) Ouellette, Colleen (Frovarp) Carlson, Sheila (Frovarp) Baquera ('86), and the late Barbara Frovarp.

Obituary:

Calmer (Cal) R. Frovarp was born April 20, 1957, to Curtis E. Frovarp and Beatrice A. (Nilles) Frovarp. Cal, 67, was called home to be with his Savior and Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, with his loving family by his side, under the care of Sanford Hospice. 

He graduated from Moorhead High in 1975. He married Julie Luken on August 2, 1986. They enjoyed the blessing of their 4 children. They resided in Moorhead where they raised their family. 

Cal worked for the KWS Seed Group for 35 years working with corn and sugar beet research, and American Crystal Sugar for 7 years. 

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Cal is survived by his loving wife, Julie; sons, Cody and Craig (fiancé, Liberty)and daughter, Kari; sisters, Cathy (Keith) Faller, Diana (Brian) Ouellette, Colleen Carlson and Sheila (David) Baquera and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends and relatives that are near and dear to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice; father, Curtis; sister, Barbara and son, Shawn.

Cal loved his family, friends, gardening, hunting, fishing, painting and spending time at his lake cabin at Rush Lake with his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 A.M., with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements by Wright Funeral Home.
