This is a Deacon Alert to inform you of the passing of Eloda Altringer on Tuesday, Sept. 30th.

Eloda was the mother of your classmates, Michael Altringer ('70), Joan (Altringer) Wambheim '73, Mark Altringer ('74), Julie Altringer ('76), James Altringer ('77), and the late Mary (Altringer) Holste ('71).

Obituary:

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eloda Jean Altringer, who peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at SMP St. Catherine’s South under the care of HIA Hospice and her family. Born October 10, 1927, in Fargo, ND, Eloda touched the lives of countless people through her life with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering strength.

Eloda was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she always put their needs before her own. She also devoted time to her community through church, walks for Alzheimer’s, and local food banks. She will be deeply missed by her community, family, and friends.

Eloda is survived by her children Michael (Belinda) Altringer, Joan (Bruce) Wambheim, Mark (Barb) Altringer, Julie Altringer, James Altringer, her many grandchildren (10) and great-grandchildren (15).

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James, and her daughter, Mary (Altringer) Holste.
