Henry "Hank" Ratajczak

Dear Class of 1986:

This is a Deacon Alert to inform you of the passing of Henry "Hank" Ratajczak on Friday, Feb. 14th.

Hank was the father of Curt Ratajczak and Kelley (Ratajczak) Lenertz ('86).

 

Obituary:

Henry “Hank” F. Ratajczak was born February 16, 1936 to Walter and Frances Ratajczak in Lincoln County, Minnesota. He graduated from high school in Ivanhoe, Minnesota in 1954. He worked on the farm with his father and worked part time at the Dx gas station in Ivanhoe. He was drafted in the Army in 1956 and was stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado and Fort Lewis, Washington.

In 1962, he attended Dunwoody College in Minneapolis till 1964 and worked for The Gorgen Company there.

He married Agnes Fier in September 12,1964 and they settled down in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. In 1968, they moved to Fargo, North Dakota where he began work at Therm-Air Sales Corporation. He purchased Therm-Air Sales in 1972.

Hank and Agnes started a band called The Dusters in 1970 and played on weekends at wedding dances, the VFW, Eagles, among other places till about 1985.

In 2013, Hank retired from his business at Therm-Air Sales Company and moved to Big Cormorant Lake, Minnesota, and enjoying winters in Arizona. Hank enjoyed spending time at the lakes and with family and friends.

Left to remember his life kindness are his wife of 60 years, Agnes and their children Curt (Kelly) and Kelley (Dan) Lenertz; Grandchildren Ashley (Nick) Evans, Jake Lenertz, Christopher (Ellyssa) Ratajczak and Josh Lenertz and Great Grandchild Brooks Evans. He is also survived by his brothers Marcellus and Ervin and sister Clara Sik.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Edward and Marian Irwin.
