Richard (Rick) Mickelson, of Cottage Grove, formerly of Fargo, ND passed away January 27, 2025. Rick was born to Don & Ruth Mickelson of Fargo, ND on September 9, 1963. He had a love of billiards, cooking, music, playing his guitar and spending time with his friends and family. Rick absolutely adored his children and was an amazing dad. Rick spent his career as a Hospice Nurse taking care of others. He was a dedicated nurse comforting his hospice patients and their families at the end of life.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Ruth Mickelson of Fargo, ND. Infant brother David Mickelson and brother Kevin Mickelson of Bismarck, ND. Rick is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kelli (Burger) Mickelson of Cottage Grove (formerly South St Paul). His son Mason Mickelson and daughter Brynne Mickelson both of Cottage Grove. Brother Dan (Kim) Mickelson of Fargo, ND, Sister Deb Mickelson of Fargo, ND, Sister-in-law Colette Mickelson of Bismarck, ND, Brother Tom (Becky) Mickelson of Rochester, MN, Brother Todd (Peggy) Mickelson of Fargo, ND, Sister Roni (Rose) Ahern of St Paul, MN, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Service will take place, Friday, February 7, 2025 at Southern Funeral Home in South St Paul with visitation from 10 – 11 and service from 11 – 12.
