Obituary:

April 30, 1952 – October 2, 2025

Roy Peter Wasche, 73, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Sun City, Arizona, after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Roy was the son of Peter and Margaret Wasche. He graduated from Shanley High School in 1970 and earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from North Dakota State University in 1974. A proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Roy cherished the lifelong friendships he formed with his fraternity brothers. On August 18, 1974, Roy married the love of his life, Connie Melhus, in Fargo, North Dakota. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, laughter, and unwavering devotion. After spending eight years in Texas, Roy returned to Fargo to join Wasche Farm Management alongside his father, later continuing his career with Farmers National as a dedicated farm manager. Roy was deeply committed to his community, serving actively in the Lions Club and proudly holding the role of President of the local Red Cross in the Fargo-Moorhead area. He had a passion for the open road and treasured his time riding his 2003 Harley Davidson Road King Classic, creating lasting memories with every mile. Above all, Roy was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose pride in his five grandchildren was immeasurable. “Donuts with PePaw” became a cherished tradition, and his competitive spirit and quick wit made every card game unforgettable.
Roy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie; his children Nick (Brenna) of Atlanta, GA; Grant (Patrice) of Basalt, CO; and Rachel Gregg (Kurt) of Maple Grove, MN; his grandchildren Michael, Kinsley, Lily, Quinn, and Charley; his sisters Wanda Heintzman and Mary (Dan) Zimmerman; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Arizona and Minnesota to celebrate Roy’s remarkable life.
